Gain rare access to three projects across two transformative Burbank studio campuses that are redefining the creative workplace. This session reveals how ambitious adaptive reuse and regionally rooted landscapes are shaping workplace culture. Attendees will explore California ecologies and performance-driven design at Warner Bros. and NBCUniversal.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Evaluate how large corporate campuses can retrofit legacy infrastructure to achieve ambitious workplace, climate and water reduction goals, drawing on adaptive reuse strategies demonstrated at Warner Bros. and NBCUniversal.
  • Analyze strategies for integrating production, security, and public realm on a working studio lot. Assess integrated infrastructure and energy systems, including solar arrays, water reuse, and microgrids, for environmental performance.
  • Identify planting, grading, microclimate, and shade strategies that translate Southern California ecologies into resilient, high performance workplace landscapes, from hillside chaparral to riparian conditions along the campus Paseo.
  • Apply post occupancy findings to understand how outdoor environments influence employee behavior, collaboration patterns, attendance, and overall workplace culture, using measurable data collected after project completion.
