Nathaniel Willing (Anishinaabe, Sandy Bay First Nation Ojibway descent) is an Indigenous design advocate and co-founder of the ASLA Indigenous Collective Group. He is committed to integrating Indigenous Knowledge, Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), language, and cultural medicine into Landscape Architecture. As a Project Associate at MIG Inc.’s Native Nation Building Studio and a master’s student in Indigenous Community Planning at UBC, Nathaniel believes design is a form of good medicine—rooted in land, language, and healing. He co-directs a global initiative on Indigenous Knowledge with IFLA and uplifts Indigenous youth to lead in design and planning futures.
