Arriving in New Orleans
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)
With service from over 16 airlines and 56+ nonstop destinations, MSY is easy to reach. The new terminal (opened 2019) makes arrivals and departures smooth and modern.
💡 Pro Tip: The new MSY terminal offers modern amenities and shorter wait times compared to the old facility.
Ground Transportation from the Airport
- Ride-Sharing:
Uber and Lyft are available at designated pickup areas at the airport.
- Taxis:
Traditional taxis are available at the designated taxi stand outside baggage claim.
- Public Transportation:
Airport shuttle and public bus services connect MSY to downtown New Orleans.
- Hotel Shuttles:
Many hotels offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
Other Ways to Arrive
🚂 Scenic Route: Taking the train to New Orleans offers beautiful views of the countryside and is a relaxing way to start your visit.
- By Bus:
Greyhound offers service to and from New Orleans with connections to major cities across the country.
- By Train:
Amtrak provides routes from several major cities. Three trains service New Orleans: the City of New Orleans, the Sunset Limited, and the Crescent.
