Matt McMahon is a contextual thinker, strategist, and interdisciplinary designer, pursuing questions of perception, craft, and contemporary notions of nature. At Cornell his scholarship draws upon twenty years of professional experience in landscape architecture, applied ecology, and architecture, delivering ambitious works across North America. While with Snøhetta, Matt directed teams on the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, The Blanton Museum of Art, and improvements to the Gorge Trail at Watkins Glen State Park. Matt situates work within the materials and labor of time and place, rooting thought in the histories, values, and theories across disciplines and mediums.
