Mari Fujita is a designer and Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. Her work explores emergent urbanism, social justice and living heritage, with a focus on Vancouver and other regions undergoing rapid growth or decline. She collaborates with community partners in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side to imagine shared futures through community-engaged design. She is also a member of TAIA, Towards an Immigrant Architecture, a collective of architects, artists, and educators exploring how immigrant communities shape the built environment and generate spatial practices rooted in resilience, adaptation, and care.
