Landscape Designer Curtis and Rogers Design Studio Miami, Florida
Design should be rooted in environmental justice and informed by science because in the U.S., many of the communities we design for are home to immigrants, low-income families, and others disproportionately affected by environmental harm yet underserved. By weaving climate data, GIS tools, and plant science with cultural knowledge and lived experience, landscape architects have the power--and responsibility--to create spaces that not only heal ecosystems, but also restore equity and a sense of belonging for those too often left out of the conversation.
This 10-minute presentation is part of the Game Changer program, a fast-paced series showcasing bold ideas and innovative metrics that support the goals of the ASLA Climate Action Plan.
