With 25 years of experience, Lauren Leighty, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP BD+C, is a Vice President with SmithGroup and leads the firm’s award-winning Campus Planning Studio. Her expertise in urban design combined with a strong background in landscape architecture provide a distinct vantage point from which she approaches each project. Lauren is a member of the Board of Directors for the Landscape Architecture Foundation, serving on its Executive Committee as the VP of Research. She received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by a Master of Urban Design from the University of Michigan.
