Kristen Lohse, ASLA, is an urban designer with over two decades of experience advancing trail planning and design. She specializes in network planning, trail design, wayfinding, and design guidance that bridges vision and implementation. Her work integrates landscape architecture and active transportation to create connected, resilient trail systems across the West, where she has led the planning and design of more than 400 miles of trails. She is co-author of FHWA’s Guidebook on Trails as Resilient Infrastructure and a forthcoming rails-with-trails guidebook. She managed development of MTC’s San Francisco Bay Trail Design Guidelines and Toolkit 2.0.
