Hanson has over 40 years of planning experience, including as a Community Development Director for 18 years. He has overseen general and specific plans that have received awards from the American Planning Association. Hanson provides management and planning services to public agencies. Recent projects have involved Housing Elements, specific plans, inclusionary housing, wildfire recovery, and financial analysis. Hanson currently serves on the City of Alameda Planning Board, is an FAICP inductee, and is a member of the California Planning Roundtable and Planner Emeritus Network. He holds master’s degrees in urban planning and public administration and is a licensed landscape architect.
