Associate Principal
Mithun
Seattle, Washington
As a landscape architect and urban designer at Mithun, Laura’s work addresses climate adaptation through shoreline projects, resilience hubs, campuses, and district-scale planning. She works to honor lived experiences and place attachments while addressing intersectional challenges related to climate, equity, and identity. Her R+D research has investigated the fraught process of "managed retreat" through the lenses of equity and capacity-building, offering a process for defining community-grounded adaptation approaches across a spatial spectrum. She speaks regularly on the topics of "emotional infrastructure" and "organizing for climate refuge" across the US and Canada.
