David White joined the Department of Biological Sciences in 1983. Dr. White studies plant community and population ecology in wetland ecosystems. Recent research has focused on study of the establishment and spread of the marsh reed, Phragmites australis, within the Mississippi River Delta and the community structure of tropical forests in the Yucatan Peninsula. Dr. White is also involved in a long term research project (going on 25 years) on marsh plant biomass within the Delta.
