Dr. Bryan Piazza, director of science for The Nature Conservancy in Louisiana and the Mississippi River Program, provides freshwater and coastal conservation and restoration projects in Louisiana, the Gulf of Mexico coast and the Mississippi River Basin. He authored, The Atchafalaya River Basin – History and Ecology of an American Wetland. His work includes: protecting and restoring river floodplains, developing Basin-wide scientific monitoring network, improving flood resilience in Louisiana, and training future conservation professionals. professionals. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Louisiana State University, Nicholls State University, Southern Illinois University, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
