Kara Elliott-Ortega is the Senior Program Officer for the Arts and Culture Program at the Kresge Foundation. Previously, she served as the Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston and oversaw the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture.

Kara received her Masters in City Planning from MIT and her bachelors in English Literature and Human Rights from the University of Chicago. Kara also serves as board chair for MassCreative, Massachusetts’ arts advocacy organization.
