Justine Shapiro-KIine is an architect and planner based in New York. Her practice prioritizes participatory design and integration of natural systems to support the development of equitable communities and resilient places. She manages NYC’s Climate Strong Communities initiative on behalf of the Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice and has led numerous technical assistance efforts on behalf of US EPA. She co-founded the Community Adaptation Learning Exchange, a peer-learning collective focused on advancing climate adaptation at the community level (communityadaptation.org). Justine has taught design studios at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Pratt Institute, and Cornell University.
