Janet Simpson joined the staff of what would be come Jefferson County Greenways in May of 2023. Since her tenure with the organization began, her experience managing strategy and relationships helped her to oversee the merging of two nonprofit entities and a state agency to form this exciting new public-private partnership that oversees Jefferson County Alabama's large acreage green spaces.
Accessibility is a recent passion of Janet's. She has taken a prominent role in leading staff and stakeholders in partnership with Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects in the redevelopment of a defunct neighborhood park into an innovative Universally Accessible Nature Space.
