Gordon is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and an urban forester for the City of Oakland where he coordinated the development of the city's equity-focused Urban Forest Plan. He writes, manages, and implements grants to fund urban forestry work and support volunteers. Gordon serves on the Board of the Western Chapter International Society of Arboriculture and is the chair of the San Francisco Bay Area Urban Forest Ecosystem Council. Gordon has a master’s degree in public administration and holds several certifications including ISA Urban Forest Professional, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, and SAF Certified Urban & Community Forester.
