Naomi A. Sachs, PhD, ASLA, EDAC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland, where she directs the Health in Access to Nature and Design Living Lab (HANDLL). In addition, Dr. Sachs is Founding Director of the 501c3 organization, the Therapeutic Landscapes Network. Her book Therapeutic Landscapes: An Evidence-based Approach to Designing Healing Gardens and Restorative Outdoor Spaces, co-authored with Clare Cooper Marcus, is considered a foundational text. Sachs’ interdisciplinary research focuses on therapeutic and salutogenic landscapes and evidence-based design.
