Learn about straightforward and engaging online interactive mapping methods that bring the community into the planning and design process. Example park and trail design processes will be highlighted. Session will include an interactive digital engagement activity.

Learning Outcomes:

Describe the role of digital engagement tools in building transparency and trust for public projects.
Implement the steps to create a project webpage, promote and facilitate community engagement, and synthesize results for planning and design.
Identify differences between digital community mapping vs. non-spatial community engagement, and how these different results can be complementary.
Recognize how online engagement tools support concept development, based on real case study examples.
