Indigenous People’s Day Celebration: Honoring Voices, Building Futures
Monday, October 13, 2025
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CT
Location: Room 338-339
Join us in honoring Indigenous People’s Day with a celebration of reflection, gratitude, and visioning for the future of landscape architecture. This one-hour gathering will uplift Indigenous voices through performance, storytelling, and open dialogue. Experience the powerful sound of Cody Blackbird, one of today’s most celebrated Native American flutists, performing live at our Indigenous Peoples Day event.
Together, we will reflect on one year of the Indigenous Collective Group (ICG)—from youth engagement to global IFLA initiatives—while recognizing the importance of equity, diversity, and indigenizing the profession. Through stories, and shared aspirations, participants will have space to express gratitude, strengthen relationships, and imagine creative ways to highlight diversity at future ASLA conferences. The session will conclude with grounding us in community and connection.
