Landscapes are experienced by constituencies in both their social impact and physical verdancy. Horticulture plays a significant role in the outward manifestation of public spaces, from floriferousness to climate crisis and stormwater management capacities. How we engage with and work through problem-solving with nurseries is essential to our profession’s success.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn how to ensure a horticultural vision by establishing relationships with regional and national nurseries.
  • Establish a means of engaging nurseries to ensure both the landscape architect’s intentions and the capacity of growers to implement the designer’s planting plans.
  • Understand how to work with nurseries prior to or between projects to ensure that a singular, signature vision is achievable.
  • Learn how to ensure accountability with nurseries and growers to positively inform success.
