Join fellow drawing enthusiasts for a day of sketching as you explore New Orleans’ vibrant urban spaces and landscapes, which have been shaped by the city’s rich culture and music. Bring drawing materials, weather-appropriate clothing, and comfortable shoes. Sketchbooks will be provided and will be displayed at the ASLA EXPO.

Includes sketchbook and catered lunch.

Accessibility: This session requires extensive walking.

• Observe and illustratively interpret how culture, music, and history influenced and continue to impact the city’s public spaces.
• Illustrate spatial relationships between streetscapes, open spaces, and pedestrian movement.
• Develop and improve exploration techniques and strengthen observational and analytical skills.
• Develop a narrative through sketching, capturing the essence of a place.
