The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) believes that all people should have equitable access, independence, and inclusion in their surroundings. Below is an outline of the various accessibility services and resources available to ensure everyone can fully participate in the conference experience.
The accessibility and special accommodations below are specific to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Trained service animals are permitted at conference events to provide assistance to individuals with disabilities. ASLA adheres to all ADA guidelines regarding service animals, as outlined here: ADA Service Animals
Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. A service animal may be excluded if the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it, or if the dog is not housebroken. Service animals are subject to local dog licensing and vaccination requirements.
The convention center provides service ramps to entrances and elevated areas, automatic doors, an array of passenger elevators, restroom facilities, as well as braille instructions and directional signage at strategic locations throughout the building.

Affinity Groups: Attendees are invited to join Affinity Group Meet Ups where you can connect with others who share similar interests, backgrounds or experiences.
No one is required to disclose a disability or detailed explanation for a special accommodation, but we can better meet specific needs if we know well ahead of the conference that a reasonable disability-related accommodation will be needed.
ASLA respectfully asks that individuals needing accessibility and special accommodations provide us with advanced notice, when possible, and pertinent information during the registration process.
Additionally, please email ASLA staff at conferences@asla.org for accessibility and special accommodations requests by August 4, 2026. While we will do our best, arrangements cannot be guaranteed after this date.
